August Partner Letter
The First Time!
We recently completed our first rebuild project in Baxter Springs, Kansas by helping the McCumber family replace their tornado-damaged roof. Kenneth’s wife badly broke her leg while cleaning up their property after the April tornado. Neighbors all around them had their homes destroyed, and the McCumber’s dog was killed in the storm. They certainly were a family that needed a reminder of how much God loves them. We are thankful for the opportunity to show them love by using the skills that God has given us. We were also able to give them Jesus Today, a devotional by Sarah Young on hope in Christ, and a nail cross to remind them of God’s love for them.
We are really excited that Know Hope Ministries, who we partnered with in their backpack outreach, was able to minister to kids and hand out the backpacks in Baxter Springs. God opened the door for Kurt and Jenny Morton to be able to reach out to affected kids through First Baptist Baxter Springs’ VBS program. We are so excited to see how God uses this ministry in the future to show the love of Christ to kids after a disaster. We are looking forward to completing another rebuild project in Baxter Springs this fall. The people of this small community have made their way into our hearts, and we would love nothing more than to help another family recover. This project will bring a need for an increase in volunteer and financial support. If you would like to help, please contact Scott at scott@rightsideupministries.org. A great way to get involved financially is to join our campaign for 100 new $25/month partners by 2015. We also have urgent ministry needs for a truck and a new MacBook Pro.
