Helping after Kentucky Flooding

When the flood waters began rising last month in Kentucky, Pastors Mike and Connie Tabor and their family were stuck in the church sanctuary for 2 days until the water receded enough for them to leave.

Happy Church had significant damage to 8 of its 9 buildings on one campus, and all 3 buildings on the second campus. This includes a total of 6 homes where the staff lived.

A missions church to one of the poorest areas in the United States, Happy Church has a passion for reaching kids in the community. They’ve hit the ground running after this year’s flood, gutting out their church buildings while also handing out much needed supplies to local residents.

We’re excited to be serving with Happy Church to help with project management and volunteer coordination during their clean up and rebuild phase.

The flood waters came as high as the gym windows. The gym is now being used to distribute supplies to the community.
