June Partner Letter

Serving in San MarcosWorking in Tyvec Suits, Texas: Helping Affected Families in the Name of Jesus!

The Memorial Day Weekend storm systems brought heavy rain and flooding to Hays County, Texas. The predominantly Hispanic community of San Marcos was heavily affected, as was the neighboring town of Wimberly.
We are blessed to be spending three and a half weeks in June working with Samaritan’s Purse in San Marcos. We have helped gut homes filled with a lifetimes of memories. We are so grateful to be able to bring the hope found only in Jesus to hurting families in their time of need.

Ivan’s Home: An Opportunity to Bless and Show Love

Floor and Walls Torn UpLast week we had the privilege of working at Ivan’s home. This young family just paid off their trailer before the flood, but due to title issues only received a minimal amount of money from FEMA.

The trailer really needs to be demolished, but they do not have the finances to replace it. Ivan is determined to piece his home back together so his wife and two year old son have a place to live. Through the process, we had the opportunity to share the Gospel to him and his wife and they both accepted Jesus as their Savior.

Part of the vision of RSUM is to be able to have the finances to help the local church bless families like Ivan’s. We could provide a newer safe home for this family for only $25,000. It is our prayer to have a special project fund available for situations like these in the next year.

If you would like help us build this fund so we can bless families like Ivan’s, put “Special Projects” in the memo on Paypal or your check.
