March Partner Letter
Serve Tulsa
Special Kids Care
We recently had the opportunity to help a local non-profit daycare that works with special needs children. We were able to help complete a few tasks before the grand opening ceremony for their new playground.
They were working with OK Chive, a local organization that works with non-profits to raise funds for large projects. They were able to raise the money to completely renovate the playground equipment, including a new soft padded rubber play area. They were also able to install a wheelchair accessible swing. We helped by spreading mulch around the new playground, as well as building a stage, tree bench, and a wheelchair accessible planter box.
We were also honored to be invited to the grand opening ceremony on April 26th. It was great to see how many people from the community rallied around the daycare to make this day a special one.
This project was possible because of your continued prayers and support. Thank you for partnering with us and making this project a success. Be sure to visit their website- www.specialkidscare.org.
New Baby, Knee Surgery, & More
New Baby Simons
It’s only a matter of days until we welcome the newest member of our family into the world. The baby is due April 11, and Dara is ready for it’s arrival. We are waiting in excited anticipation of finding out soon if we are adding a boy or girl to our family.
Knee Surgery
Scott will be having knee surgery the end of April. It will be a simple cleanup from the last surgery and a scope to check things out. This should be a much quicker recovery time than the last surgery. The doctor is estimating a two-week recovery and is optimistic this will take care of the current issues.
Serve Tulsa Projects
We are continuing our Serve Tulsa project with Betty Hickman again this year. We will begin working on her house again in the coming weeks. We have applied for a $5k grant and should hear something soon. Our budget this year for projects on her home is $8k, which includes the cost to tear down the house next door. Betty owns the house, which is rundown and un-inhabitable. It has become a destination for homeless squatters and drug dealers. Removing it will make Betty’s home much safer.
Ministry Prayer PointsFifth-wheel Camper We are in need of a fifth-wheel camper with a toy-hauler to meet our unique travel needs for our new family. With the camper we will be able to travel as a family and fulfill all God has for us to do. $2017/m in 2017 We are looking to increase our monthly financial support by $2017.00/m in 2017. With a steady increase in expenses we are in need of an increase in partners to help us fulfill the call on our ministry and lives. We never charge anyone for anything we do. Instead we rely on committed loyal monthly partners like you to help us spread the hope of the Gospel and the love of Christ to the world.
